Foreign exchange or foreign exchange market (Forex Market) is a type of trading or transactions of a country's currency against the currencies of other countries involving major financial markets in the world for 24 hours continuously with a turnover value reaching Rp 4 trillion.

Because of its liquidity, rate and acceleration on the price movements, international currency trading has also become the most popular alternative because the return value of the investments we are planting and the benefits to be obtained can exceed the average trade in general.

The foreign exchange activities have experienced rapid increase in recent years in the Asia-Pacific region, markets such as Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore also rank among the top ten most active centers in the world.

TRADING HOUR

Trading starts on Monday 04:30AM (Western Indonesian Time) and ends on Saturday 03:00AM (during summer time),

or on Monday 05:30AM (Western Indonesian Time) and ends on Saturday 4:00AM (during winter time).

 

MARGIN REQUIREMENT

USD 100 per 0.1 lot (contracts)

 

US DOLLAR BASIS

The investment, such as initial deposit margin, swap point or commission shall be all in terms of US dollar.

 

TRADING EXAMPLE

Assume an investor buys two British Pound contracts at rate 1.6000 and settles the two contracts by selling at rate 1.6100, then the trading profit shall be calculated as below:-

Trading Profit     = (selling rate – buying rate) x contract size x units

 = US$(1.6100 – 1.6000) x 100,000 X 2
= US$2,000

Assume an investor buys three Dollar-Swiss contract at rate 0.8800 and settles the three contracts by selling at 0.8900, then the trading profit shall be calculated as below :-

Trading Profit     = (selling rate – buying rate) x contract size x units / Settlement rate


= US$((0.8900 – 0.8800) x 100,000 x 3) / 0.8900 
= US$3,370.79
