Relationship between Platon Niaga Berjangka (PNB), Bappebti, Bursa Berjangka Jakarta (BBJ) and Kliring Dan Jaminan Bursa Komoditi (KBI)

Bappebti is a government body set up to control all Indonesia’s futures trading activities. It controls BBJ and KBI. It would ensure all futures trading carried out in Indonesia are properly done. It also regulates the activities of all the licensed futures company and make sure that they are operating in a proper manner.

BBJ controls all the futures trading company such as PNB. All futures trading company in Indonesia have to be the member of BBJ.

KBI is the clearing house which guarantees the transactions in BBJ, so trading is performed smoothly . All margin funds for trading purpose have to be transferred to KBI.

When client opens a trading account with PNB, investment fund shall be deposited to a bank account designated by Bappebti either in Bank BCA bearing PNB’s name. This shall be a segregated PNB bank account for investment fund transfer between client, PNB and KBI only. The segregated bank account shall be under the direct supervision from Bappeti and a compensation fund has been set up by Bappeti to safeguard the clients’ investment fund.

When client carries out a trading, margin fund shall be transferred from the PNB’s segregate account to KBI and when client settle the position, there is an actualized financial gain or loss which would be accumulated to the margin fund initially kept by KBI. After computation, the fund shall be transferred back from KBI to PNB’s segregate account for client’s withdrawal upon their request.
